HAS GOD SPOKEN? HOW DO YOU TELL? A 5-POINT YARDSTICK.

“WHENEVER GOD SPEAKS”:- the 5 point Yardstick

Why do you need to check what you hear and read to ascertain that its truly the message of God?

1Thess 5:20 Do not despise prophecies,21 but test everything; hold fast what is good.22 Abstain from every form of evil.
1John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Cor 14:29  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
Matt 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.
Acts 20:29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;
Matt 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Job 34:4 Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what [is] good.

The 5 point Yardstick by Prophet Dr. David E. Owuor

Whenever God speaks:
  1. You must find it in the Holy Bible- the words attributed to God must line up with His Known word/scripture (Bible) and not contradict it in any way. If you cannot find it in Scripture then, “God has not spoken”.
  2.  He always Centralizes His Holiness in the Church – He always reveals His Holiness. He centralizes His Holiness in all His Messages. His messages contain His Holiness in them because He is Holy.
  3. He must condemn Sin- Because He is Holy and cannot stand sin in all its form. It disgusts Him. “God will never compromise with sin”, instead a time is coming when He shall deal with sin decisively and totally: Rev 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” 1Cor 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. Heb 9:28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
  4. He must point to the Coming Messiah. The message of the coming Messiah is all over the New Testament -The redemption of Humanity. The church born at Calvary and commissioned at Pentecost was sent to Preach The Gospel to all creation and prepare His Creation for the second coming of the Messiah. The Church is the light of the world. Our Faith is hinged on the fact that God Raised Him (Jesus) from the dead and that He (Jesus) will come for us both those who died in Him and those living at the time of His coming. Now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed. Just like the resurrection of Christ is a key anchor of our faith (1Cor 15:15) so is His Second coming- another anchor to our Faith.
  5. He must establish/ build the Kingdom of God in the Church. Throughout the four Gospels,  Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom of God in the Bible. He will never build the Kingdom of Men in the church. He preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

The white horsemen of Revelation 6 and 19

The white horseman of Revelation 19
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war.12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.13 And he was clothed with a clothing dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.15 And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.16 And he has on his clothing and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Note:  11 signs in REV 19: 11-16
1.       The horseman is called: faithful and true.
2.       He makes war in righteousness and judges in righteousness.
3.       Eyes as flames of fire.
4.       Many crowns (plural) are on his head.
5.       He has a name not known to any man-only himself.
6.       His cloth is dipped in blood.
7.       He is the word of God.
8.       He has a sharp edged sword from his mouth.
9.       He will smite the nations,
10.   Rule with an iron rod.
11.  He is KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
THE HORSE MAN OF REVELATION 19 IS EASILY IDENTIFIED. BUT LETS SEE THE SCRIPTURES THAT IDENTIFY HIM .
He is the word of God
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

This is the scripture used to introduce Christ in the Gospel of John

He is KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
1Tim 6:14 That you keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

THIS HORSEMAN IS FURTHER IDENTIFIED IN REVELATION 1-3

John is in the Isle that is called Patmos   banished there as part of persecution for His testimony of Jesus Christ when a great voice like a trumpet spoke to him from behind:

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

Rev 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;13 And in the middle of the seven candlesticks one like to the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the breasts with a golden girdle.
Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Rev 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength.

In verse 18  the being described by John in verse 13 as one like to ‘the Son of Man’ now identifies himself.

 Rev 1:18 I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for ever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

After this He goes on to Dictate 7 letters each to a church as per the instructions He had earlier given in Rev 1: 11 to John.  In the letters he dictates His identity is fully revealed beyond reasonable doubt. Below are verses in the letters that identify him fully:
Rev 2:8 And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things said the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Rev 2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things said he which has the sharp sword with two edges;
Rev 2:18 And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things said the Son of God, who has his eyes like to a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
Rev 3:14 And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things said the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
See also Colossians
Col 1: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

So we now know who is the Being with eyes like a flame of fire: it’s the Son of God. Further evidence is revealed in the other letters He dictates to the Churches. But I believe the above review of scriptures sufficiently identifies the rider of the white horse in Revelation 19:- JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD.

So Jesus is the rider of the white horse of revelation 19 and bears the 11 signs in REV 19: 11-16. We can prove all of the 11 signs as identifiers of Christ from Scripture but the objective of this article is to prove the identity of the  rider of Rev 19  and the rider of Revelation 6 and so far the rider of revelation 19 has been sufficiently identified. So lets turn to the other rider of revelation 6.

The horseman of Revelation 6

Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given to him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

Note:
1.       The horse is white.
2.       The rider has a bow (no mention of arrows).
3.       A crown (singular) is given to him.
4.       He set out to conquer.
Differences with the rider in Revelations 19 :
1.       Jesus in Rev 19 has many crowns. The rider of Rev 6 has 1 crown
2.       Jesus is the Lamb opening the seals [Rev 6:1 ] in Heaven releasing the four apocalyptic horsemen to the earth to do the work that HE –Jesus- in Mathew 24 referred to as the beginning of sorrows. It would be unlikely that the one releasing the horseman is at the same time the horseman being released.
3.       This horseman cannot be the Holy Spirit for we know that the Holy Spirit was given to the body of Christ on earth on the day of Pentecost  yet the prophesies of John in Revelation are given years after the day of Pentecost for John receives the Prophecy when he is exiled in Patmos Island years after Pentecost being persecution for his testimony of Jesus
Rev 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The prophecy of Revelations is about the future. John was instructed to write starting with what he saw (while on the island) what was and what was to come.
Rev 1:19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
4.     Besides the Holy Spirit at Pentecost descended as tongues of fire not as a horseman riding a white horse.
Acts 2:3 And there appeared to them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat on each of them.4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

By and large White is the color of peace in Earth. When soldiers in battle seek to surrender to their enemies they would hoist up a white flag so that the other side does not open fire on them as they come out to surrender. A white horseman going to conquer with a bow and without arrows indicates that he shall accomplish his conquests without firing a shot i.e through Deception. It would be sufficient to describe this rider as a DECEIVER.

In Mattew 24 :4-8 Jesus gives the prophesy of the end times as follows and in the following order:
Matt 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Matt 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Matt 24:6 And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Matt 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Matt 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
1.       Deception (in the church) – white horseman
[false teachers, false apostles, false Gospels such as  the infamous Gospel of prosperity, horizontal teachings, ….. ]
2.       Wars and rumors of war - red horseman
3.       famines, and  - black horseman
4.       pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places – Pale horseman (kill 25% population by sword, famine, disease, and wild animals)

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE PARABLE OF THE 10 VIRGINS
Matthew 25
The Parable of the Ten Virgins
 1 “At that time (the time when Jesus comes for His Church) the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. (Jesus preached the Gospel of the kingdom of God and in John 3 He tought that those who have believed in Him have passed from death to life. Here Jesus paints the picture of the kingdom of God being His church on Earth which he likens to virgins meaning that His Church is one that has not defiled itself with the world and its ways: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life- 1 John 8:16. His church is innocent of the corruption, evil and the sins of the world. Romans 16:19. 2Pet 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Note that all the ten were virgins- they were a remnant- the purified part of Christ’s church –yet 50% of them did not enter. All had lamps- the word of God- Ps 119:105 NUN. Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. The virgins stepped out into the night (the darkness in the world) with their lamps (the word of God) lit (by the Holy spirit) to meet the bridegroom (they knew the times and knew that Christ return was nigh), but some carried extra oil (external support of the Holy SPIRIT, His continuous guidance and purification). Only the Holy Spirit can prepare the Bride of Christ for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Without the Holy Spirit no one will enter.)

 2 Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise.
(part of the true Church is Faithful and True [WISE] to Christ the other part is FOOLISH. The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom)
3 When the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra olive oil with them. 4 But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.
(The lukewarm, foolish church does not have sufficiency/abundance of Holy Spirit or Christ in them. They have inadequacy of the Holy Spirit either not filled or partially filled/lukewarm. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 8:9. For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure. John 3:34.  The true church has abundance of the Spirit of God. They walk in the spirit and in doing so have escaped the corruption of the world and works of the flesh. Gal 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.)
5 When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
(The bridegroom- Jesus- would not come at a time sooner but later. He would delay. Since the start of the age of Grace Jesus would take a long time because The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance -2Pet 3:9. And during this long wait from Pentecost to the day of the rapture of the church, the church would become drowsy and fall asleep. Note that “all” become drowsy and fell asleep both the true church and the lukewarm church. This can be noted and ascertained by looking at the History of the church.)
 6 But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is here! Come out to meet him.’
(Towards the end of the age of Grace when Christ is about to come He shall send messengers, Prophets to announce His soon coming. He shall send warnings, alerts, signs of His soon coming (see Mathew 24) to awake the Church from its sleep so they can prepare themselves for the rapture – Christ’s coming of the Church. This shall be a short period, a small window. I believe we are towards the end of this small time window as many announcements and signs have gone out regarding Christ’s coming. Many messengers preach that we are living the end times. We are clearly the Mathew 24 generation. Matt 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.)

 7 Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’
(When the warnings of Christ’s coming go out Christians will awaken. The depth you had gone in your walk with Christ earlier in your life will count- the word in you, the faith you had grown…… this will determine your ability to prepare to be raptured within a short notice. Those filled with the Holy Spirit will quickly be able to get themselves ready for the rapture in time. Those not filled with the Spirit of Christ, low in the word of God, who don’t know or can’t remember what God requires of them will run to the churches, Pastors and Teachers looking for teachings of the word as they somehow discern that Christ’s  coming is at hand. However they would either not find anyone to prepare them, or will take too long to find one, or it will take them too long to prepare. With the high level of apostasy currently in the church these group of Christians will hardly find a Pastor or Teacher who can lead them to prepare to be ruptured
9 ‘No,’ they replied. ‘There won’t be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
(The church that is ready for the rapture will focus on cleaning itself to ensure that it has either spot not blemish. Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Knowing how important it is to enter, they will concentrate on entering the Kingdom rather than seeking after those who have spent their lives sampling the pleasures the world offers. This shows that outwards the church will look like its one but inside it wll be divided into two- the one entering and the one being left behind. To the Spirit filled they will be knowing that the lukewarm church will not enter. But the lukewarm churches will not wake up to their lukewarm /lost status until time has run out. However once the rapture takes place all will know that the rapture has taken place- there shall be no doubt that Christ came for His Church)
10 But while they had gone to buy it, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with him to the wedding banquet. Then the door was shut.
(Christ will come for those who are ready, waiting and watching for him. Luke 12:37 Blessed [are] those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
When He comes it is to close the door- the door to the marriage supper of the lamb. This is judgment as the ruptured shall go with Christ to the marriage Supper of the Lamb while the left shall remain on Earth to face a tribulation such as has never been and shall never be seen on earth. Matt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.)

11 Later, the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’ [Matt 7:21]; [Luke 6:46]; [Luke 13:25];
(Let us in? the lukewarm Christians will frantically beg Christ to rapture them too)
12 But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’ Matt 7:23; Luke 13:25; [Luke 13:27];
(Christ shall not rapture them out of their cries because they are not ready for Him. They have wrinkles, spots and blemishes. They have not washed their robes white. They have not been living Holy. Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. They will beg but He shall say “I Don’t know you”, because they are not wearing the wedding garment.
Matt 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast [him] into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. This will be so because. This will be so because God hates it when His people take pleasure in sin and unrighteousness: 2Thess 2:12 ……………..That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Pet 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished). Since they put their treasures in the world He shall let them face His wrath that He will met out on the world. Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.)

13 Therefore stay alert, because you do not know the day or the hour.  Matt 24:42; Mark 13:33; Mark 13:35; [Luke 12:40]; [Luke 21:36];
(The day of the rapture is trap to those not looking and watching for Christ’s appearance. To those the day shall come as a thief. To those who are watching they shall know the period and the time through the Holy Spirit. Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.)
